Lancet JSC made the first delivery abroad
For many Western manufacturers, the local pharmaceutical market in Central Asia and Trans-Caucasian region is of limited interest due to its small capacity. In addition, generic drugs are popular in these markets, which are known to have lower costs and to be cheaper than original drugs. Therefore, the function of drug suppliers to these countries was taken over by several Russian companies, among which now is Lancet JSC.
“We have set ourselves the goal to establish contact with local markets, with local distributors, and adapt our work to their needs in 2022. We believe that patients in these countries shall also have a possibility to buy qualitative and effective medicines. This is the mission of our company”, commented Anton Zybin, the Director General of Lancet JSC.
“The purpose of our company is to understand and summarize the needs of each market in a particular country to add them up in certain therapeutic directions in the future. That is, doctors or hospital administrators will be offered a certain group of products from various manufacturers, for example, for anesthesiology and resuscitation or treatment of oncological diseases. Thus, we will cover several needs of clinics at once and fulfil our mission of providing patients in these countries with the necessary medicines”, commented Natalia Kapranova, Business Development Director of Lancet JSC.
All the rules for production and sale of pharmaceuticals and medical devices are expected to be unified on the territory of the EAEU countries by 2025 (currently they are five states — the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation), and manufacturers will be required to follow these rules. As a result, the amount of goods brought into the territory of states illegally (gray imports) and administrative barriers for the access of medicinal products to national markets shall be decreased.
