Asklepios Course. Oncologic imaging, 14 15 May 2015

European Society of Radiology (ESR) in partnership with Lancet organized regular educational ESOR course Asklepios Course. Oncologic imaging in Sochi, 14 15 May 2015. The course was held under the leadership of Dr. Nicholas Gourtsoyiannis (main director of the ESOR programme) and Dr. Igor Tyurin (Chief Radiologist of Ministry of Healthcare of RF).

60 Russian radiologists attended the educational course Asklepios Course. Oncologic imaging. The course contained three modules, each divided into lections for all the audience and sessions with case discussions for small groups. All the attendees were awarded certificates.

ESOR Asklepios Course is held since 2009 including courses for Russia and CIS countries. The course is designed for last year residents and recently board-certified radiologists. It is aimed at familiarizing attendees with recent advances and practices in oncologic imaging for further applied use, as well as at explanation of the clinical significance of early tumor detection and the necessity for accurate staging and modern oncologic reporting for appropriate therapy planning and correct estimation of prognosis. Renowned European experts in oncologic imaging ensure a high quality teaching programme, combining lectures and interactive case discussions.

The European School of Radiology (ESOR) was founded in 2007 is an institution, fulfilling the mission of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) in the field of education. ESOR courses are held regularly in Europe, Asia, Latin America. ESOR lector are the most renowned European experts.
